The Executive Director of the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) Fabby Tumiwa said, based on the type of technology, namely direct current power cable (HVDC), this cable facility is most likely not shared by Indonesia. “The benefit we can get is if the cable factory and its components are built in Indonesia,” said Fabby to Kontan.co.id, Monday (7/2). Fabby explained, if the HVDC factory facility is built in Indonesia, in the future there will be benefits for the government. One of them is for the need for inter-island electricity interconnection.
