Finance and Economics Analyst

Putra joined the Analyst Team at the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) as a Financial and Economic Analyst. His research focuses on the financial and economic aspects of developing and implementing an equitable and inclusive renewable energy transition in Indonesia.
Putra holds a Bachelor of Economics degree in Accounting from Syiah Kuala University. His research focuses on financial topics, Good Corporate Governance (GCG), and sustainability practices in public companies in Indonesia. After graduating, Putra started his career as a Research Assistant at Syiah Kuala University. He was involved in research programs that examined economic, development, and sustainability issues. One of his research programs collaborated with the Aceh Regional Government in assessing the allocation of funds for education and human resource development in Aceh. Other research programs are related to food security and regional economic development.
Putra’s interest in development and sustainability issues encouraged him to continue his master’s studies at The University of Leeds, UK. There, he studied Global Development with a focus on Sustainable Development and Global Political Economy. In his dissertation, Putra studied government policies related to food and their impact on Indonesia’s food sovereignty from a political and economic perspective.
Outside of his professional field, Putra has several hobbies that he does in his spare time, including watching movies, reading books, and visiting new places.
