Energy Transformation Program Officer
Reananda Hidayat Permono, usually called Rean, works at IESR as an Energy Transformation (ET) Program Officer. He assists the Energy Transformation Program Manager in conducting engagement and policy advocacy to various stakeholders, from government to community.. Previously, Rean worked as an IESR consultant for the energy transition and economic transformation program in South Sumatra Province. His introduction to renewable energy made him fall in love with the world of research and think tanks.
Rean earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Petroleum Geology from Curtin University, Australia. After graduating from college, he worked as a field engineer for oil and gas exploration projects in West Papua and East Timor. Before joining IESR, Rean also worked part-time for the Australia Awards in Indonesia (AAI). With an educational background and work experience full of fossil energy environment, he hopes to enrich the perspective of writing research and other communication products at IESR.
In his spare time, Rean enjoys reading novels, writing on his personal blog, playing table tennis, and exploring the city for capturing photos. His favorite fiction writers are Leila Chudori, Agustinus Wibowo, Andrea Hirata, Haruki Murakami, Mitch Albom, and Keigo Higashino.
