Sodi Zakiy Muwafiq
Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst
Sodi Zakiy Muwafiq, also known as Sodi, is a Geographic Information Systems Analyst in the IESR Research Team. As a GIS Analyst, Sodi is tasked with modeling and analyzing geospatial data in order to support research in the field of energy transition.
Prior to joining IESR, Sodi worked as a Mapping Expert in several government agencies, including the Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of PPN/Bappenas, and Ministry of ATR/BPN. As an expert, he contributed in the technical field in the form of making thematic maps in the preparation of various policy documents both at the national and regional levels. In addition, he has also done internships at think tanks such as WRI Indonesia.
Sodi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Geography, University of Indonesia. During his studies, he focused his research on renewable energy development in remote islands of Indonesia using spatial analysis approach. His interest in the renewable energy sector is based on concerns over the current climate crisis, therefore he hopes that the energy transition can be realized soon.
Outside of working hours, she prefers outdoor activities such as camping and hiking. Sodi is also interested in pop-culture works such as books, movies, and music.
