Vicky Firmansyah
Energy System Modeler
Vicky Firmansyah or can be called Vicky is an Energy System Modeler at the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR). In this role, he is responsible for developing and validating energy system models to simulate renewable energy strategies, energy efficiency, and the integration of distributed generation with the electricity grid. Prior to joining IESR, Vicky worked as a TKDN Verifier at PT Surveyor Indonesia, where he conducted audits and verifications of local content levels across various industrial sectors.
Vicky completed his fast-track bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). During his studies, he was involved in several projects at DKPU ITS, where he worked as an Energy System Modeler and Process Engineer. His academic contributions include co-authoring a book with his advisor, titled “Perencanaan Energi Berbasis Rendah Karbon”, published by ITS Press in 2024. Additionally, he has presented his research at international conferences such as the International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC) and the International Seminar on Chemistry (ISoC).
Beyond academia and his professional career, Vicky has a strong background in entrepreneurship. He has won multiple business competitions during his university years and has successfully developed companies in the trading and palm oil waste management sectors. He also founded Klimora, an initiative focused on energy innovation and sustainability, aiming to bridge technology with practical solutions to support the green economy.
In his spare time, Vicky enjoys swimming and reading books, particularly those related to self-improvement and history. He believes that lifelong learning is essential for continuous growth and serves as a foundation for making a broader impact on society.
