Gita Rama Mahardhika
Geographic Information System Analyst
Gita Rama Mahardhika (Rama) is a Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst at the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR). His work focuses on geospatial analysis, spatial modeling, and data management to support research and advocacy for a sustainable energy transition. Rama is responsible for map production, spatial analysis, multi-source data integration, as well as drafting research reports and policy briefs.
Rama brings extensive experience in research and consultancy on spatial planning, disaster mitigation, flood risk assessment, and climate policy. In 2024–2025, he worked as a Research Assistant (Urban Design) at Monash University Indonesia, contributing to projects such as Decarbonizing Building in Asia (Net-Zero Precincts), urban transformation, the development of Indonesia’s new capital city Nusantara, and community-based renewable energy initiatives.
From 2022 to 2024, Rama was also part of the Research Center for Disaster Mitigation and Climate Change (MKPI) at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), where he supported consultancy projects on policy development, greenhouse gas emission reduction planning, and master planning for urban development. ITS is also where Rama completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Urban and Regional Planning.
Rama’s main interests lie in urban resilience, disaster risk management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as fostering meaningful community participation in public policy processes.
