Agus Adi Putra
Emission and Fuel Analyst
Agus Adi Putra or can be called Agus is an Emission and Fuel Analyst at the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), specializing in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and sustainable energy systems. He began his career in 2020 at Ailesh as an LCA technical assistant in the electricity sector, before advancing to senior analyst and project manager. During this time, he led LCA studies across various industries, including energy, chemical production, palm oil, tin mining, and petroleum distribution. Among his notable achievements was contributing to the publication of Indonesia’s first Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for electricity.
Agus earned his Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Systems from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. For his thesis, he collaborated with Volvo Group Truck Technology, conducting an LCA-based study on the comparison of bipolar plate materials for hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles.
Beyond project work, Agus actively shares his expertise as a guest lecturer at Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA), as well as a speaker and national trainer on LCA. He also contributes to the broader fields of environment, LCA, and renewable energy through scientific publications (3 publications at 2024) and by presenting his research at international forums, including the OpenLCA Life Cycle Conference in Berlin (2024) and the EPD Stakeholder Conference in Gothenburg (2024).
Outside of work, Agus enjoys reading biographies and science fiction novels and has a passion for learning languages. He has studied English, Arabic, Japanese, and Swedish. At IESR, he seeks to combine practical experience, academic knowledge, and international perspectives to strengthen research and advocacy on emission reduction and sustainable fuels, supporting Indonesia’s transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
