This study aims to report the impact of the global energy transition to the Indonesian coal industry. We have analyzed the policy development in coal export destination countries and project how these policies would influence the Indonesian coal demand. Lessons learned from three different countries, who experiencing transition away from coal (e.g. UK, Canada, Germany) are drawn to propose how Indonesia should take the first step in the coal transition process.
