JAKARTA, Indonesia /PV Magazine/ — Countries such as Japan, South Korea, and China, which have been the main supporters of Indonesian coal investment, have decided to limit their direct investment. “This could pose financial problems for PLN in the future”, said Fabby Tumiwa, managing director of the Essential Services Reform Agency (IESR). Closing 50 GW of coal-fired power plants is still not enough to ensure Indonesia’s progress towards the zero emission target.
