The population of battery-based electric cars or battery electric vehicles (BEV) is still very small even though the government has pushed for the era of electric cars since the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 55 of 2019. According to IESR, using an incentive scheme and taxation of electric vehicles can increase the number of electric car sales by up to 20 percent.
