Martha Jesica Solomasi Mendrofa
Social, Policy and Economic Research Coordinator
Martha Jesica Solomasi Mendrofa is the Research Coordinator of the Social, Policy and Economics Group at IESR. Martha focuses on the social and economic aspects of equitable energy transition research. Her interest in inclusive and sustainable development issues is reflected in a variety of research and reports.
Martha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Institut Teknologi Bandung, and Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning with an academic program focusing on Regional Development at Institut Teknologi Bandung. In the study of urban and regional planning, Martha learned about a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of planning and development such as environment, infrastructure, social, economic, and institutional. Martha specifically studied regional development in her master’s school as she was driven to learn about the development of rural and marginalized life. During her university studies, Martha co-authored a proceedings article titled “Building the resilience of rural creative entrepreneurship through leadership concept,” which was published in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Prior to joining IESR, Martha worked as a Research and Policy Intern at J-PAL Southeast Asia, where she joined the Inclusive Financial Innovative Initiative (IFII) team and contributed to data analysis for the inclusive digital finance research project. Martha has also worked as a Research and Academic Assistant at the Regional and Village Planning Research Group, SAPPK-ITB where she contributed to research projects on rural transformation, rural digitalization, and socio-cultural aspects in regional spatial planning.
To balance her work and study time, Martha enjoys various types of art, ranging from appreciating fine art, listening to music, writing poetry, making doodles and sketches, and sometimes watching theater in her spare time.
