Manager Power System and Renewable Energy

Dwi Cahya Agung S (Cahya) serves as the Manager of Power System and Renewable Energy, in which he is responsible for developing and executing strategies to accelerate the energy transition within the power subsector through an evidence-based policy advocacy approach. Cahya focuses on engaging diverse stakeholders to collaborate on the success of energy transition programs while providing technical guidance to support the government in transforming Indonesia’s power system to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy for all communities.

Prior to joining IESR, Cahya built a solid professional foundation as an analyst specializing in renewable energy, power systems, and climate change. His experience spans conducting feasibility studies on solar PV, front-end engineering design for clean power generation, and developing MRV guidelines for climate mitigation actions. His technical expertise is backed by a strong academic background from the University of Indonesia, where his master’s thesis at the Faculty of Engineering specifically explored the flexibility analysis of the Java-Madura-Bali power system in managing the massive integration of variable renewable energy (VRE).

Beyond his technical work in power system modeling, Cahya is known for his deep appreciation of Indonesia’s natural beauty, which he frequently explores through his hobbies of hiking and traveling. His commitment to sustainability extends beyond policy, as seen in his active participation in youth forums discussing the future of clean energy. He believes that complex technical solutions must ultimately lead to positive and tangible socio-economic impact—a principle he consistently applies to every power system analysis he undertakes.
