Faricha Hidayati

Industrial Decarbonization Project Coordinator

Faricha Hidayati, usually called Icha, acts as the Industrial Decarbonization Project Coordinator at IESR. Previously, Faricha has been involved in many sustainable energy projects as a researcher in the laboratory of energy conversion, at Universitas Gadjah Mada (2018), laboratory of microelectronics and nanostructures, University of Manchester (2021-22), and research assistant at ASEAN Centre for Energy (2022-23).

During her studies at BEng Mechanical Engineering UGM and MSc Renewable Energy and Clean Technology with Extended Research UoM, she received many awards in the sustainable energy field. These are the Top 5 Finalists of the ASEAN Science Project on Sustainable Energy by PERTAMINA, Best Research Project by UoM, and Top Student of the Year by UoM. Her master’s degree project was to design and fabricate a flexible and lightweight supercapacitor for fast-charging energy storage using sustainable materials and processes.

Other than that, she also has published Q1 scientific journals, reports, and op-eds throughout her career journey. In her free time, she enjoys baking cookies and cooking some dishes. She also loves sports and outdoor activities such as badminton, bicycling, and hiking. On the weekend, she loves to join some volunteering activities that promote awareness of climate change and sustainable living and promote education equality for women and children who live under limited resources.
