Just Transition Program
Ensure the transition from a high-emission economy dependent on extractive sectors to a low-emission economy through an equitable approach.
The Just Transition Program aims to ensure the transition process from a high-emission economy that depends on the extractive sector to a low-emission economy through a fair approach.
An equitable approach can be carried out by considering 4 types of justice; 1) procedural justice, 2) distributive justice, 3) restorative justice, and 4) retribution justice.
Specifically, this program focuses on encouraging the process of planning and implementing an equitable transition, both at the national and sub-national levels, through 1) research related to the impacts, challenges, and opportunities of an equitable energy transition, 2) roadmap or guidelines for an equitable transition, and 3) communication with stakeholders (government, private sector, and civil society).
