Executive Director of the Institute for Essential Service Reform (IESR) Fabby Tumiwa, assessed that the need for coal supply for the coal power plant owned by the State Electricity Company is expected to continue to soar. Even in 2024, it is projected that the figure can reach 131 million tons per year. Currently, around 65 percent of Indonesia’s electricity supply still relies on coal. Thus, the need for black gold supply in the future will continue to increase if it is not anticipated immediately
