The Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) considers that the government is still unsure about making the energy transition. IESR Executive Director Fabby Tumiwa said the government has a policy direction regarding the energy transition, in which the President sets decarbonization in 2060 or earlier. The government has also decided that it will no longer build a coal-fired coal power plant other than the 35 Giga Watt (GW) program. Coal power plant in the future will be terminated and accelerated with New Renewable Energy
