Kompas | Pricing for Domestic Carbon Trade by the Government is Considered Too Cheap

PLN’s carbon trading trial involves PLTU Tanjung Jati B unit 4 which has a surplus of emission quotas. As a result, the coal power plant can transfer quotas to Punagaya Coal Power Plant, Pangkalan Susu Coal Power Plant, Sebalang Coal Power Plant, and Teluk Sirih Coal Power Plant at a price of Rp. 30,000 per ton of CO2. According to the Executive Director of the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), Fabby Tumiwa, the carbon trading price is relatively low.
