In an IESR study, the means for coal power plant modification to operate flexibly can be focused on baseload reduction from 50 percent to 30 percent, an increase in the CFPP’s ability to withstand fast load jumps twice as much as usual, as well as speeding up the start-up time from 2-10 hours to 1.3-6 hours.
