Muhammad Faisal Ain Lubis called Faisal works as a Sustainable Energy Transition Indonesia Program Officer at IESR. Had joined the Process System Engineering Research Group which researched Waste to Energy (WtE) from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in Landfills, has joint research experience with regional company PDAM Tirtanadi Medan for research on the development of Municipal Sewage Sludge (MSS) in Wastewater Treatment Plant into biogas. Has professional experience working at the company PT SMART Tbk (Sinarmas Agroresources & Technology) for the position of Assistant manager, has several community service projects in collaboration with one of the Rumah Energi Foundation (YRE) groups, namely Mitra Sarana Energi in the manufacture of small-scale biogas plants in several areas in Special Region of Yogyakarta and East Java.

Has entrepreneurial experience by establishing start-up Micro X Indonesia under the auspices of PT Cipta Karya Energi Pancapersada which is engaged in the circular economy and won several national competitions Battle of Minds from British America Tobacco, Energy Transition Innovation Challenge from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and New Energy Nexus and Climate Innovation League from Ecoxyztem (PT Greenaration Indonesia) as well as several other regional, national and global championships. Have freelancing experience as a Business Consultant, especially those related to Sustainable Business and circular economy concepts. Undergraduate education was achieved from the STIPER Yogyakarta Agricultural Institute in the SMRT ENGINEER Full Scholarship program from PT SMART Tbk in the field of Palm Oil Industry and Bioenergy. at Gadjah Mada University in the field of System Engineering with a concentration on New & Renewable Energy. Other interests are related to CCUS (Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage) and Carbon Pricing Mechanism (CPM).

Growing up and living in sedentary places in several cities in Indonesia, the hobby for traveling to various regions has grown. Faisal has explored more or less 85% of Indonesia’s territory. Besides that, he also enjoys watching fictional films and reading several fictional novels such as the Red Queen series from Victoria Aveyard, Game of Throne Novel Series, The Lord of the Ring and its prequels such as The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin and many other fictional novels.
