Power System Transition Officer

Muhammad Reza Putra (Reza) serves as a Power System Transition Officer. In this role, Reza contributes to designing and implementing strategic work plans aimed at accelerating Indonesia’s energy transition. He is actively involved in policy advocacy efforts with the government and supports various public communication initiatives. His work is vital in ensuring that IESR’s energy system transformation strategies are effectively implemented and clearly communicated to diverse stakeholders.

Reza holds a degree in Energy Conservation Engineering from Politeknik Negeri Bandung and participated in a student exchange program at National Chin-Yi University of Technology, Taiwan. Prior to IESR, he gained extensive field experience as a Project Engineer for off-grid solar power plant (PLTS) projects in Indonesia’s remote (3T) regions, including Papua, Sulawesi, and the Riau Archipelago. His international experience includes developing solar energy training modules for workers in four African countries. Furthermore, he is an active member of the UNMGCY’s SDG7 Youth Constituency and the founder of Antara Charity, a social initiative focused on educational support.

Outside of his professional career, Reza is deeply passionate about youth empowerment and sustainable energy issues. An avid marathon runner, he also enjoys spending his free time cooking, reading novels, and visiting museums. Reza is a skilled communicator who frequently shares self-development insights on Medium and is often invited as a guest speaker or moderator for public events. For Reza, the energy transition is not just about technology—it is about inspiring the younger generation to drive positive change for society.
