Otniel Stefen Adi or Oni, worked as Stakeholder and Public Engagement Specialist at IESR, actively fosters relationships with strategic government partners, non-state actors, businesses, and community leaders, driven by her passion for energy and environmental issues.
Oni’s journey began with contributing to the technical sector of Indonesia’s first mass-produced electric bus for the G20 Summit Presidency in Bali. This sparked her interest in the Sustainable mobility sector. Subsequently, participating in the feasibility study for Light Rail Transit (LRT Bali) for the Indonesian government’s cooperation with South Korea deepened her skills in collaboration, especially in outreach and engagement across sectors.
In addition, Oni’s background as an environmental consultant since 2020 has strengthened her understanding of environmental regulations and documents such as ANDAL, RKL RPL, and AMDAL. She also has experience as an environmental and social consultant in handling flood control for PT Amman Mineral.
With a bachelor’s degree from ITS Surabaya and a Master’s degree in Environmental Resource Management and Development from Brawijaya University in 2023, Oni published scientific research focusing on electric vehicle battery waste management. Her research aimed not only for compliance but also to align electric vehicles with environmental sustainability.
Outside of work, Oni’s interest in water sports led her to become a certified Advance Diver, which allows her to contribute to coral reef restoration efforts across Indonesia. Exploring the islands by motorcycle is another hobby, where she enjoys immersing herself in the local culture and connecting with the community.
