Amidst the global challenges faced due to climate change, the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) took an important step by conducting a study to understand public views on the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and various new energy technologies. Among the technologies studied, solar energy emerged as one of the most affordable and promising sources of energy, especially after significant developments.
The energy transition is an important process that involves shifting from the use of fossil fuels, such as coal and oil, to renewable energy, such as solar, wind and geothermal power. This process is crucial for combating the effects of climate change, reducing air pollution and creating a healthier environment for people. In Indonesia, which still relies heavily on coal as its main source of energy, shifting to renewable energy is not an easy challenge. Achieving this goal requires strong planning, substantial investment, and policies that support communities affected by coal reduction.
