Energy System Transformation Program Officer

Rahmat Jaya Eka Syahputra, nicknamed Jes, works at IESR as the Energy Transformation (ET) program officer. He manages the program activities which aim to accelerate renewable energy policy and increase public awareness. Furthermore, He is responsible for building good working relationships with various stakeholders in the energy and non-energy sectors.

Jes has been engrossed in energy issues since his research at university which focuses on waste plastic conversion into fuel oil and promising materials development of solid oxide fuel cells. Besides that, He succeeded in analyzing the impact of electricity production through the Life Cycle Assessment cradle to grave methods applied for environmental impact assessment at coal-fired plants in Central Java and Banten Province.

Before Joining IESR, Jes worked in the community development sector which focused on education improvement and energy access for the outermost and disadvantaged areas of Indonesia, in which he gained practical knowledge and experience in asset-based mapping and community engagements.

Jes pursued his bachelor’s degree in chemistry science at Sebelas Maret University. He likes spending his leisure time swimming and hiking.
