Rahmat Jaya Eka Syahputra
Head of Industry Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach
Rahmat Jaya Eka Syahputra (Jes) serves as the Head of Industry Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach. In this role, he manages program activities aimed at accelerating renewable energy policies and increasing public awareness regarding decarbonization. Jes is responsible for building and maintaining strategic working relationships with various stakeholders across both energy and non-energy sectors to foster synergy in achieving Indonesia’s net-zero industrial targets.
A Chemistry graduate from Sebelas Maret University, Jes has been immersed in energy issues since his university days, focusing his research on converting plastic waste into fuel oil and developing materials for solid oxide fuel cells. Prior to joining IESR, he gained significant experience in the community development sector, focusing on improving education and energy access in Indonesia’s outermost and disadvantaged (3T) regions. This field experience equipped him with practical expertise in asset-based community mapping and inclusive engagement strategies.
Outside of his professional work in stakeholder collaboration, Jes is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys spending his leisure time swimming and hiking. His passion for nature is more than just a hobby; it reinforces his perspective on the urgency of environmental conservation. Furthermore, his technical proficiency in the cradle-to-grave Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method—which he previously applied to evaluate the environmental impact of coal-fired power plants in Central Java and Banten—enables him to navigate energy transition challenges from both technical and social lenses.
