Head of Industrial Decarbonization Solutions

Rheza Hanif Risqianto (Rheza) serves as the Head of Industrial Decarbonization Solutions. In this role, he is responsible for conducting in-depth research, technical analysis, and policy assessments related to renewable energy technologies, with a specific focus on green hydrogen and green ammonia. His contribution is vital in providing the data-driven insights necessary for IESR to advocate for the adoption of future fuel technologies that can accelerate decarbonization in Indonesia’s industrial and heavy transport sectors.

Rheza holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and a Master of Energy from the University of Auckland. Prior to joining IESR, he built his professional career in the FMCG industry as a mechanical project engineer, where he successfully led multiple capital projects and energy efficiency initiatives, including heat recovery systems, solar PV, and biomass boilers. His academic expertise is bolstered by his research on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), comparing the environmental impacts of conventional diesel buses with electric and hydrogen alternatives, providing key insights into sustainable mobility transitions.

Away from his work analyzing green molecules and energy systems, Rheza is an active sports enthusiast, with football and tennis being his top picks. He is also an avid traveler who enjoys immersing himself in diverse coffee cultures. Rheza finds great excitement in seeking out unique coffee flavors from different regions, a hobby that recharges his energy as he remains committed to guiding Indonesia’s transition toward a cleaner energy future.
