One week has passed since the celebration of the 74th years Indonesian Independence Day, but the calling for independence in various ways continues. The country’s commitment to be independent and to actualize the renewable energy targets continues.

Inequality of access to electricity still occurs. Society is still dependent on fossil fuels. Gender equality and the role of women in providing access, planning, implementing and utilizing energy have not been fully achieved.

In this moment of independence, we present seven women’s experiences in encouraging women involvement to drive new and renewable energy. We, four organizations under the Strategic Partnership for Green and Inclusive Energy, namely Hivos, IESR, KPI and YLKI, believe that access to clean, inclusive, affordable and sustainable energy must be realized, ensuring gender equality in energy provision, use and management.

We proudly present 7 Indonesian women from the partnership of these 4 organizations.
